A little Finlandia vodka in honor of Raanta's ridiculous game.

Opponent Notes
Got to love Patrick Kane treating JT Miller like a late night guest at his home in Buffalo.

The DeLury Mush
Back on October 28th, with Nick Holden struggling mightily to acclimate himself to AV's defensive scheme, I started a "Holden Thinks" tweet, which went viral (here's a small fraction of it):

Welp, in the 21 games since that night in Carolina, Holden has 11 points (4g, 7a) including the overtime game winner in Chicago. Can you say reverse mush?

Mini Recap
With all the injuries to key players on both sides along with each team turning to their backup goaltenders in net, the lineups had a preseason game feel. But this game was anything but. End to end action with absolutely stellar goaltending. Hell if you didn't know any better, you would have thought it was Richter vs. Belfour in goal tonight.

Give the Rangers defense credit as they yielded a grand total of ONE goal in back-to-back road games against two teams currently in playoff position. Hell, even a Girardi snow angel worked tonight.

Four out of four points with no Hank, Nash, Zib and Buch as well as Vesey missing the Winnipeg game? I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Damn, it's good to be back blogging again. Leave your thoughts on the new recap layout in the comments section.

  1. Ahhh...a review of a game that actually is describing the game! No need for a mathematical thesaurus or a primer on new hockey statistical acronymns

Nice to see you blogging again Kevin

  4. I'll drink to that!

I didn't get a chance to watch the game last night although I did listen to it. Don La Greca had a great call. I thought it was a game where you were going to feel bad for the netminder who gave up the first goal. Then Holden tallied the OT winner and I was too busy feeling happy the right team won to feel bad for Darling. Haha! F em!
