Post Game Cocktail Recommendation

In that frantic third period, a number of Rangers players sacrificed their bodies to block shots. Most notably Dan Girardi and Jesper Fast. I'm assuming both of them needed something to numb the pain afterward. So let's all have a Painkiller to celebrate their efforts.

Wild 7, Rangers 4

The New York Rangers (23-12-1) lost to the Minnesota Wild (21-8-4) by the score of 7-4. For a box score, click here.

3 Stars

1st Star - Brady Skjei (For not having to participate in that disaster)
2nd Star - Henrik Lundqvist (Textbook execution of how an employee starts his Christmas vacation early)
3rd - Tanner Glass (With back-to-back blowouts he'll likely be recalled before your first fish course on Christmas Eve)

Post Game Cocktail Recommendation

Not sure what was worse, having to sit through this train wreck for the second straight game or my wife forcing me to watch Love Actually immediately afterward. The only prescription for this nightmare scenario is a Mind Eraser.

The Official Recall Tanner Glass Campaign

In my former life as the creator of The New York Rangers Blog, I had some success garnering support for different campaign efforts. Whether it was to get Sean Avery in the All Star game, chant "Can You Hear Us?" at Bruce Boudreau or raise money through a t-shirt sale in honor of Derek Boogaard, I was able to galvanize Rangers fans behind a cause. Whelp, I've now got my eyes set on a new prize: get Tanner Glass back on the Rangers roster.

Over the last week, Glass' name has surfaced in a few news items regarding a possible return on Broadway.

Here's Hartford Wolfpack Head Coach Ken Gernander last week (Via Pro Hockey Talk):

“We’re still hoping that he makes his return to the NHL and to do that he’s going to be a role player who finishes his checks, is a penalty killer, a reliable guy defensively to help his team late in the game protect a lead,” Gernander said, per the Hartford Courant. “And that’s how we like to use him here.

“We’re trying to do right by him by continuing to use him in a role that will give him the chance to show what he can offer an NHL team.”

Meanwhile, over at the New York Post, Larry Brooks makes this suggestion in the wake of the Henrik Lundqvist incident:

"But the idea of promoting Glass — who ideally would step in for Marek Hrivik or Matt Puempel on the fourth line — or someone like him isn’t so much about adding a deterrent as it would be to send a message that even if the Rangers won’t hit first, they will at least hit back."

Where there's smoke folks, there's usually fire.

I'm getting giddy just thinking about it. And no, it's not because I think Glass can help the Rangers. On the contrary, I actually think he immediately makes the Blueshirts worse the second he walks in the MSG locker room. However, the sadist in me just wants to see Rangerstown burn.

3rd Star - Liquor stores & bars in the tri-state area (Ranger fans needed a couple of drinks after this one)

Post Game Cocktail Recommendation

With the Pens big three of Crosby, Malkin and Kessel combining for 7 points (3g, 4a) I got to go with a Three Wise Men shot. Plus, for bonus points, it has a Christmas theme as well.

When you beat the Devils, there's really only one drink to have afterward: a Red Devil of course. Plus, this was the cocktail my wife was drinking when I first met her back in 1995. Yeah, I'm old.

I'm back....again

I'm not sure if the Elsinore Brewery is using 80's synthesizer music to lure me back into blogging or I just miss you guys, but I'm back...again.

Similar to Glen Sather force feeding Sean Avery onto the Rangers roster to provide a spark yet again, I felt like Blueshirt fans needed a blog that brought a little humor and fun back into rooting for the Rangers.
